Apollonia-Katavati-Vathi
Apollonia-Taxiarchis of Skafis (60 mins)
The first part of the route begins from the main square in Apollonia. Heading towards Katavati and passing in turn the church of Katavatis, the hotel Galini and the Panagia of Aggeloktisti. Crossing the main road leaving on our left the monastery of Firogeion and taking the "classic" path which lead to the highest peak (Prophet Elias) passing by on the left the crossroads of the paths leading to the chaples of Agion Anargiron and Agiou Efstathiou (Stathis). Continuing on we reach Taxiarchi of Skafis.
Taxiarchis - Vathi (100 mins)
Leaving Taxiarchis, and crossing the region abundent in little vineyards we pass a cave on the right and then turn onto the stone laid path on the left which ascends up to the hill where we have a view to the island of Kimolos. The region in which we find ourselves is protected by the EU environment protection programme Natura 2000. Make a stop at the monastery of Agiou Ioanni - Mavro Xorio. Continuing the up hill walk and turning to the right in the direction of Agio Nikola t'Aerina. Attention do not continue at the crossroads on the left and take instead the road to Agias Aikaterinis and Agias Marinas towards Vathi. Reaching (with a small de-tour) the church of Agiou Nikolaou. There is a little tap here with water. All of the region is characterised by the low growing cedar shrubs. Returning to the main path descending to Vathi.
