Akrotiri-Red Beach
Akrotiri-Taxiarchis (60 mins)
We begin where the bus drops us of at the village of Akrotiri where we can easily make out the remains of the island's Venetian fortress.
From here our direction is towards Panagia Kinisi, around half an hours walk. The view towards the villages and the sea is excellent.

Passing the vineyards, the path looses itself just for a little within the thick vegetation, we find it again and finally end up at the church of Taxiarchi. This is a large building with spacious courtyards for the faithful.
Kambia-Red Beach-Excavations at Akrotiri (40 mins)
Continuing on we reach the rocky shore known as Kambia. Here this is a little taverna. If you wish you can keep on walking to the famous red beach where there are many amenities and lots of people of course, there is also a boat here which does transfer to other beaches.At the end of the strand you can climb up onto the soft rock and take the narrow foot path which will bring you right around the hill to where the archaeological excavation site is found. (closed due to repair work on the roof).
