Filakopi-Sarakiniko-Mandrakia
This route stands alone in the Cyclades and in all of Greece. The reason is Sarakiniko unique in all of Europe. Without a doubt this is not a path but a walk along the length of the northern coast of Milos walking parallel with the sea on a pretty even level for the most part. The sea on your right handside will be your best guide. Begin at Filakopi or perhaps a little further back from the village of Pollonia. After passing Filakopi, Mitaka, the Saint Konstantinos and the white volcanic rock formations, make your way to the picturesque fishing village of Mantrakia, walking on and sometimes off the dirt roads. 700 metres outside the settlement, go down to the sea and wonder at the amazing rock formations frozen within the lava in white-beige and red motives. Continuing on make a stop at the tiny seaside hamlet and admire the "sirmata" (little boat houses) time to call a taxi and return to your hotel.
