Chorio, is the oldest and best maintained village on the island having restored its original artistic heritage, visitors discover a small maze of alleyways, old houses, terraces, narrow passages, hidden corners, flower beds and stairways. It is said that the village streets are so white that they are radiant in the evening, glowing in fact! Anyone who comes up to the village must partake in the still silence of an ancient lost world. Do not miss this moment, the most precious thing Sikinos has to offer.The Castro, built on the edge of the cliff 280 meters above sea level, is an ancient medieval village from the15th century. Here beats the heart of the place: the square, shops and cafes are the center of social life on the island. During a walk through the village you can admire old buildings, the iconostasis carved in wood and gold, and sacred paintings of the workshop of Skordili in the Pandanassas Church and the magnificent collection of Byzantine antiquities.
