Chrissopigi
Chrissopigi (fountain of life) is the most loved church in all of Sifnos. During the period dedicated to the Ascension of the Virgin (May or June - the date varies) a large pilgrimage takes place. Wherever the icon may be in Greece on the eve of the festival it is always returned to the port of Sifnos, by ferry or in the past by fishermen, back to its riteful home.
This is also a wonderful location to gaze upon the sun rise.
Apokofto
Just beside Chrissopigi is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, combining fine sand, rocks and crystal clear waters. Traditional restaurants on the water's edge in the shade of tamarisk trees complete this typically romantic Sifnian setting.
