Nostalgia Sifnos
Nostalgia Sifnos
My small rock island
Where one day Love sat
And in my sun sang the Meltemi
And the smiling Lady of Chrissopigi faced us
For my favour (...)
The poem by George Wolf "Nostalgia Sifnos"
The appeal and ultimate charm of Sifnos is due to the fact that the locals have been true to their roots maintaining a traditional lifestyle, away from the affects of mass tourism, we can see this in the purity of the island's nature and architecture, its "untouched by time" settlements. Goat paths cover the mountain slopes passing by springs, olive groves, churches and monasteries all of incomparable beauty. Excellent Sifnian cuisine is to be enjoyed in one of the many tavernas by the sea.
