Loutra is the main tourist resort on Kythnos and can offer all the elements necessary for relaxing holidays. This spot offers traditional island beauty, sun soaked beaches with crystal clear waters, hospitable inhabitants and an amazing sunset. Moreover, Loutra is well known for the hot springs - Spa. Kakavos and Agii Anargiri are the names of two therapeutic hot springs. Loutra offers a Spa with hot waters for those who want to have the experience of a hot bath! Furthermore, close to Loutra is the location of the medieval castle of Oria, where stand the ruins of the medieval city as well as the churches of Agia Eleousa and the abandoned Agia Triada with the most unique Byzantine frescos on the island (unfortunately not well preserved).

The Castle of Oria
Close to Loutra are the ruins of the medieval Castle of Oria with the scattered remains of this medieval fortress and the churches of Agia Triada and Agia Eleousa quite unique throughout the island having ancient frescoes (unfortunately not well maintained).

Hot springs
Loutra is famous for its thermal springs. Groundwater, known since antiquity, rich in salt, iodine, iron and sulfur and having healing properties.

Worth visiting two of them:

• Kakavos with its hot springs
• Agrokipeio in an area full of cypress and eucalyptus trees

Ex Xenia Hotel
The Spa is open from June to October within the property of the former Xenia Hotel. You will find spas and marble bathrooms from the reign of King Othonas (original design by Ernest Ziller).
