Polyaigos
Polyaigos: One of the paradises we are ashamed not to introduce but at the same time sorry to share!
Enjoy this hidden secret of the Cyclades whilst sailing around its coastline! There are many sea caves along the coastline (like the cave named Galakterini) which are shelters for the Mediterranean monk seals. Its rocks are also important for many species of birds: the Eleonora's Falcon, the eagle (Hieraaetus fasciatus), the Raven of the Sea (Phalacrocorax Aristotelis) For its unique fauna of reptiles (macrovipera scweizeri, milensis Podarcis) Polyaigos was added to the Natura 2000 program as a Site of Community Importance (SCI). It 's the largest uninhabited island in the Aegean Sea and has a great geological and ecological value and is considered as the best preserved from the point of view of the Mediterranean island environment.
